How To Change Break Lights

Every light attached onto our vehicle is equally important from safety point of view. You should not take it easy if any of the lights attached to your vehicle is fuse or is not working properly. Care must be taken towards every part for proper functioning of the vehicle. A faulty light can give confusing signals to other drivers and might prove very disastrous for you and for other road travelers.

It takes less than 30 minutes to change break light or any other faulty light of your vehicle. With proper tools the replacement can be done easily at home. Tools required to change break lights are:

• Screw driver and desired sized sockets.

• A magnetic holding tray to keep all screws safely.

• Replacement bulb

The following steps will guide you to change break light of your vehicle:

1: First you need to refer to the vehicle’s manual guide in order to safely remove the light housing. Unscrew all screws attached with the housing and keep them on the magnetic tray.

2: After removing the housing, you need to remove the lenses screwed inside it. Refer to the repair guide for safe removal of the lens.

3: After safe removal of the lens, now you can pull out the bulb or the entire light assembly attached with the bulb. Don’t try to pull it harder otherwise the bulb wiring may get affected. With the housing removed you will get ample space to change the bulb. Some vehicles have a detachable outer cover which makes it very easy to change break lights.

4: Most brake lights or tail lights are placed by the help of a plug. These plugs help a lot in order to keep the light in its desired position. By following the wires of the bulb which is required for removal you can find the bulb holder. Unscrew the bulb holder by rotating it for a half turn so as it gets unseated from its actual place. After unseating the bulb holder just pull it out.

5: After the removal of your bulb holder you can see the fuse bulb present inside. You can pull out the bulb or can just rotate the bulb to unseat it from its position. Replace the old bulb with a new one.

Just by following the above mentioned steps you can avoid many traffic tickets and also prevent accidents from happening.
